I call my art Intuitive\emotive Art.

I usually have no idea where the painting will take me or what it will look like in the end. I trust and allow my intuition or unconscious to lead the image where it needs to go, to reveal to me what I need to see.

This is an example of the "scribble drawing" process from start to finish. I call this image - Introspection

I use a Technique called "scribble drawing", where I scribe all over a page, allow my eyes to pick up an image and follow it. This process enables  me to let go of any judgment, I'm just following an image that is emerging before me. it's a mystery, full of intrigue and wonder. where will it take me? what will present itself on the page before me? What hidden parts of myself will be revealed to me?

The images that emerge often surprise me. they are sometimes full of pain or fear or despair, other times they are comforting, soothing and reassuring.

I don't usually experience strong emotion while I'm creating. even if the image is full of strong feelings.

I do feel deeply connected to the image, I feel that something profound is taking place in me and before me. I try to sit with the image when it's finished showing itself. Letting whatever message it has for me clarify and sink in. Sometimes I will write in my journal about what I see and how it affects me.

Here is a video my daughter, who is a talented Photographer ,

made of my image making process. check out her work on FB  https://www.facebook.com/ashrina.chen
